Back bent, mind cloudy,

Yarn ball unrolling from hands —

Work’s monotony.

And yet… intricate.

My impassive needles click,

Weaving in each knot.

These wooden fingers

Dance an elaborate plan

While the sound keeps time.

Stitches blend below,

Uniform as Haiku lines

Stretched out on paper.

Repeat my mantra:

The pattern, must be followed,

For I fear mistakes.

With fingers aching,

Mind rooted within itself—

It is all worth it.
