Former Gator Grant Holloway earned silver in the men’s 110-meter hurdles Wednesday. The first-time Olympian dashed his way to a 13.09 time.
Holloway qualified for the finals after a first-place finish in the semifinals with a 13.13 second time. He was 0.10 seconds ahead of semifinal runner-up Hansle Parchment, who represented Jamaica and secured gold in the final.
Holloway led the race to start in the finals but faltered as the finish line approached while Parchment surged past by 0.05 seconds.
This is the 14th Olympic medal earned for the Gator program.
