Florida football acquired two four-star commits Sunday in linebacker Shemar James and wide receiver CJ Smith.

James announced his commitment via Twitter with the caption “100% COMMITTED.”

Smith also took to Twitter for his announcement, writing “100% Committed to being a GATOR!!”

James ranks as both the ninth overall linebacker and ninth recruit in his home state of Alabama, while Smith ranks as the 41st wide receiver and 40th prospect in Florida, according to Rivals.

James, a Mobile, Alabama, native,  received offers from 18 other schools including Alabama, Auburn, FSU and Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound athlete was recruited by linebacker coach Christian Robinson.

Smith also ran track at Bishop Moore Catholic High School, where he set school records with a 10.28 second 100-meter dash and 20.62 second 200-meter dash.

The two hop on the train of Florida recruits in the class of 2022, following WR Isaiah Bond, OL Tony Livingston, QB Nick Evers, TE CJ Hawkins, DE Francois Nolton Jr. and WR Syveion Ellis.
