UF’s daily COVID-19 tests have remained between 0% and 2% positivity rate since April 21.
As students began to leave campus for the Summer, testing rates decreased steadily. In mid April, UF tested an average of 888 students daily. That average decreased to 347 tests daily by the end of the month, and the first week of May showed a continued decrease with 193 tests administered daily.
As of Tuesday, 116 UF students and 39 UF employees are currently in isolation or quarantined.
The university recorded 9,975 total positive tests since it began keeping track last March, as of Tuesday.
Alachua County added 24 positive cases and 739 negative cases to its dashboard Monday with a 3.2% positivity rate. The county reported one fatality on Tuesday.
UF Health Shands Hospital had 9.23% adult ICU availability (24 beds) on Tuesday, and North Florida Regional Medical Center had 10.42% (5 beds), according to the Agency for Health Care Administration of Florida.
A total of 122,413 vaccinations have been administered to Alachua County residents as of Tuesday. Of these vaccinations, 29,849 residents have received the first dose and 92,564 have received both doses, according to the Alachua County COVID-19 dashboard.
