TikTok star and “America’s mom” Tabitha Brown will speak virtually at a free event for UF students March 24.
Accent Speakers Bureau, a student-run organization funded by UF Student Government, announced the event Friday on Facebook. It will be held on UF’s second recharge day — just hours before Accent’s virtual show featuring actress Tiffany Haddish. The Zoom webinar with Brown will start at 1 p.m. and last an hour.
Anyone with a valid UFL email address can sign up for the event until March 24 at noon. After signing up, students will receive an email with the link to the livestream.
As of Saturday, 84 people are interested in attending the event, and 22 have confirmed they are going.
Brown, a North Carolina born actress, mother and wife, is known for her veganism and comedy, according to Accent Speakers Bureau. She amassed two million TikTok followers in 40 days for her videos featuring vegan recipes, cooking tips and nuggets of wisdom, and is affectionately known as “America’s mom.”
Brown also starred in the film “All Between Us” with Tiffany Haddish, NBC’s comedy show “Will & Grace” and the ABC drama “Switched at Birth.”
This is Accent’s third show this Spring. The organization paid $120,000 for the first show of the semester, which featured YouTubers David Dobrik, Cody Ko and Noel Miller.
