The Gators are letting the good times roll after taking care of business against LSU Friday night. Now the team looks forward to taking on the top-ranked Aggies. The men continue their road trip from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to College Station, Texas while the women will defend their home turf once again.

Men’s: No. 11 Florida (7-1) visits No. 10 Texas A&M (12-3)

On a path of destruction, the men’s team have shoved out any foe that dares to step in their way. The matchup on Friday against LSU is just an example of what the team has been capable of all season long — domination.

The Gators will enter Sunday riding a red-hot four-game winning streak and have the chance to stay undefeated in SEC competition.

Captains Sam Riffice and Duarte Vale are catching fire as the wins keep piling up for 2021. Together or solo the two have shown elite performances outlasting their opponents in 90-minute battles or winning in two quick sets.

On the opposition, A&M is tearing apart opponents like Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt in dismantling fashion. According to the ITA rankings, Florida will be the Aggies’ second toughest opponent this season as A&M has already taken on No. 4 Baylor.

Texas A&M brings plenty to the table in both categories with Juan Carlos Aguilar and Bjorn Thompson’s tandem. Recording their wins together and on their own as well in the previous matches against South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

The first serve is set for 2 p.m from College Station, TX, and can be streamed with live stats at FloridaGators.com.

Women’s: Florida (4-4) hosts No. 22 Texas A&M (9-2)

After bringing their winning percentage back to .500, the Gators have no intention of slowing down after completing the upset against LSU Friday night.

The power couple of No. 26 McCartney Kessler and Marlee Zein are picking up their slack as of late after getting a much-needed win to keep Florida alive in every fight. One of their best performances came out of Friday night when Zein and Kessler frustrated LSU’s Eden Richardson and Nina Geissler, holding them to 2 points.

Claiming the Aggies’ singles’ spotlight is junior Kayta Townsend, who showcased her talents recently during her three-match streak. Townsend has blasted the opposition in two sets by rather large margins such as the 6-1, 6-3 win over South Carolina’s Emma Shelton.

The Aggies are sitting comfortably with a three-game win streak after outdueling South Carolina, 4-2 on Friday afternoon. The all-time series stands at an 8-3 Florida advantage since the Aggies have joined the SEC and the Gators lost the last matchup 4-2 back in March 2020.

The match is set to begin Sunday at noon from Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex and the match can be followed online at FloridaGators.com.
