Gators defensive lineman Luke Ancrum was arrested Saturday following a confrontation at Fat Daddy’s, a popular Midtown bar.
The 23-year-old, who donned No. 98 from 2015-2019, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault as well as aggravated battery, simple battery and criminal mischief Saturday, according to a Gainesville Police arrest report.
When two bouncers told him there was a $5 entrance fee, Ancrum threw $3 at their feet and tried to enter the bar, according to the report. The bouncers then told him to leave, and Ancrum flung several drinks at one of them.
Ancrum punched one of the bouncers, giving him a swollen left eye, according to the report. He then hurled a metal barricade toward the bouncers, which struck a third victim’s hip. The report didn’t specify if the victim was another bouncer or a bystander.
Fat Daddy’s wasn’t spared from the flying barricade, and a window shattered on impact from Ancrum’s throw, according to the report. After being identified, Ancrum sat in a police car awaiting transport to the jail. He told a friend the situation “had him hot.”
The interaction, caught on the police car’s footage, continued.
Peeking in the car window, the friend said “f*****’ around at Fat Daddy’s!” Ancrum responded, “first and last time.”
Ancrum is being held at the Alachua County Jail with his bond set at $130,000.
