Alachua County broke its largest single-day increase of COVID-19 cases two days in a row.
The county reported 88 cases Saturday, totaling 1,033 reported cases, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard. No new deaths were reported.
Most of the county’s reported cases continue to be in residents ages 15-24, according to the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard. The average age of positive residents in Alachua County is 29, a drop from 30 since Friday. The statewide average also from 42 to 41.
The percent of positive tests continued to increase with 2.61 percent of tests Saturday, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard.
