Alachua County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases surpassed 100 today.
This morning, the Florida Department of Health reported a total of 110 cases in the county -- 15 more than last night, according to a daily report from the department. With the exception of a 31-year-old female whose state of residence wasn’t stated, all of the latest cases are Florida residents:

The report shows that Gainesville holds the most cases in the county with a total of 83, while Alachua has seven, Newberry has four, and Hawthorne, Micanopy, Tioga and High Springs each have two.
Of the 2,728 tests run at Shands at UF, 2,605 have been negative and 123 have been positive, according to the daily report.
Despite UF’s promise to post updates on COVID-19 cases within the university community by noon, it did not update its website today until after 1 p.m. There are no new UF cases.
As projected in a Tampa Bay Times analysis, Florida’s confirmed cases continue to climb, with a total of 9,585 this morning. Nineteen new deaths were also reported today, bringing the total to 163.
