President Donald Trump announced today that Kimberly Guilfoyle, former Fox News anchor and girlfriend of his son Donald Trump Jr., will serve as the National Chair of the Trump Victory Finance Committee.
The press release states that Guilfoyle will lead a “nationwide fundraising program designed to recruit and activate a network of bundlers.”
On Oct. 10, Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. spoke at the University Auditorium amid hundreds of protesters. The two were brought through the Accent Speakers Bureau and were paid $50,000 in student fees.
The event drew national attention when The Alligator revealed emails between Student Body President Michael Murphy and Caroline Wren, the Trump Victory financial consultant, which showed that Murphy and Wren had met during a Fourth Of July party and discussed bringing Guilfoyle, Trump Jr., and Republican National Committee Chair Tommy Hicks.
Murphy, whose father was a former lobbyist for UF and maxed out donations to President Donald Trump’s campaign at $5,600, told the Alligator on Oct. 5 that SG initiated contact with Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle, and when Trump Jr. agreed to speak, ACCENT contacted his representatives. When asked, Wren initially denied knowing Murphy.

Correction: This story has been updated to reflect that Michael Murphy's father was a former lobbyist for UF and maxed out donations to President Trump's campaign. It was also updated to reflect that Michael Murphy told The Alligator that Student Government initiated contact with Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle. The Alligator originally reported differently.
Kimberly Guilfoyle, a senior adviser to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign and Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, speaks Thursday evening in University Auditorium. Guilfoyle spoke about her upbringing, her relationship with the Trump family and her political philosophy.
