And then there was one.
Senior Jessica Pascoe will be the only runner representing the Florida cross country team after qualifying as an individual for the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, Saturday at 11:15 a.m.
Pascoe earned her spot at the NCAAs after finishing second in the NCAA South Regional Championships. It was at the regional championships where Florida’s men’s and women’s teams failed to place first or second to qualify for NCAAs as teams — effectively ending their season.
Pascoe has never competed at the NCAAs as an individual before and will end her storied UF cross country career as one of the program’s most decorated athletes.
This year alone, Pascoe placed first in four separate meets and was given All-Region honors after her runner-up performance last week.
