Margot Winick, the UF director of strategic communications and marketing, has resigned.
“Friday was my last day at UF Communications. On to my next chapter,” Winick wrote in a tweet Sunday.
She linked to a YouTube video titled “Peggy Olson walks into McCann Erickson like a bada--,” which features a short clip from the TV series “Mad Men” of a character named Peggy Olson walking into her new job at an advertising firm.
Winick did not state her future plans but wrote in the tweet that details will come.
She declined to comment.
Winick oversaw UF’s integrated communications and national media outreach, according to the UF communications website.
In January of last year, Janine Sikes, the UF assistant vice president of public affairs, resigned.
Sikes worked at the university for more than 10 years and her salary was $102,617.
UF spokesperson Steve Orlando said Winick’s decision to leave was voluntary, and that he will be the interim director of communications.
He declined to comment further.
The Alligator put in a public records request of Winick’s resignation date, hire date and position protocol as well as a request for Winick’s employee personnel file. Neither were received in time for publication.
UF spokesperson Margot Winick tweets that she is no longer working at the university.
