Police continued searching Thursday in a wooded area for a man who has been missing for more than a month.
Gainesville Police began searching at about 8 a.m. for Thomas Brown and ended at 12:31 p.m., said GPD Capt. Jorge Campos.
“We know he was seen at Dignity Village and that was the last place we knew he would be, so we checked the surrounding woods to see if he was there,” he said.
After the search, there was no indication that Brown was in the wooded area around Grace Marketplace, at 3055 NE 28th Drive, Campos said.
Brown, 44, went missing Nov. 9 from the Wood Springs Suites motel, at 5505 SW 41st Blvd.
Brown was last seen wearing a black sleeveless shirt with a skull design on the back and is also known to ride a blue mountain bike, according to authorities.
The search party included police on foot and volunteers on horseback, officials said.
This was the first time the wooded area was searched for Brown, Campos said. The area has heavy foot traffic, but no one has reported seeing him.
“If he was out there we would have run into folks that had seen him,” he said.
Detectives will continue to follow up on any possible leads, he said.
