A man was inside his home Wednesday night when he heard a neighbor yell, “Get out of Jimmy’s truck!”

When he went outside, he found the backseat ransacked, $100 missing and a woman walking away from his truck, deputies said.

Geneva Bennett Prevatt, 47, of Waldo, was accused of breaking into the unlocked truck, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The truck was parked outside of the man’s house, at the 14000 block of Weeks Street in Waldo.

A neighbor noticed Prevatt hiding behind the truck door frame when he yelled at her, the report said. The man told deputies $100 was missing.

Prevatt told police that she may have gotten a ride to a store in the truck, but the truck is under repairs, the report said.

Prevatt was charged with burglary of an unoccupied car and petty theft, according to jail records. She is being held in the Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $8,000 bond.
