A doggy-door burglar didn’t let nails and boards keep her out of her mother’s home, according to Gainesville Police.
Linda Lee Litza, 51, is accused of breaking into her mother’s home through a dog door and stealing two bottles of wine Friday afternoon.
It was the second time in two weeks she entered the house, on Northwest 20th Way, through the dog door, according to the report.
Litza breaks into the same residence through the dog door so often, her mother nailed the doggy door shut, the report said.
She broke through the nailed door anyway and stole two bottles of wine worth $40 while her mother was sleeping, the report said.
Police found Litza in the woods near the house. After she was read her Miranda rights, she admitted to breaking into the home and stealing the wine.
Litza was also arrested in June for breaking into the home through the dog door, according to an arrest report. Her mother yelled at her to leave, but Litza refused. Litza was also arrested for burglarizing the same home in May 2017, the report said.
Litza was arrested on charges of burglary, according to the arrest report. Litza is held in Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
