Update: Jenkins was located Monday at a friend’s residence, according to Gainesville Police. She is safe and not in any danger.
Lesha Jackson, 23, went missing Saturday at about 5 p.m. after leaving her home at 4343 NW 31st Terrace, Gainesville police said.
Jackson has an Autism Spectrum disorder, and her mother told police she has the mental capacity of a five-year-old child, Officer Ben Tobias, a GPD spokesperson, wrote in an email. She also said Jackson is afraid of the police, Tobias said.
Jackson is black, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds, Tobias said. Her hair was in a ponytail, and she was wearing brown glasses, the shirt she is wearing in the photograph, blue jeans and black shoes, Tobias said.
