Freshman Taylor Ault continued her hot start to her Gators career with another pair of first-place finishes in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle against Tennessee Friday afternoon.

Caeleb Dressel racked up three event wins for the men, and freshman swimmer Taylor Ault continued her success in Florida’s dual-swim meet in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Friday.

The No. 4 men’s team (7-1) took care of business in a 56-point trouncing of the Volunteers (6-2-1), winning the meet 178-122.

There were many standouts to speak of as seven different men’s swimmers accomplished first-place finishes.

Dressel won first in the 100-yard breastroke, the 50 freestyle and the 200 individual medley.

Sophomore Khader Baqlah had two first place finishes, one coming in the 200 free and the other in the 500 free.

The other men’s swimmers who took first were Ben Lawless (1,000 free), Michael Taylor (100 and 200 backstroke), Jan Switkowski (100 butterfly), Marco Guarente (200 breast) and Mark Szaranek (200 fly).

The men’s team did not win either the 3-meter and the 1-meter diving events.

The No. 16 women’s team (4-5) had a tougher go as it was handling a No. 9-ranked Tennessee squad. The Gators dropped the contest by a score of 184-116.

Ault captured first-place finishes in the 500- and 1,000-yard free.

Emma Ball was the only other first-place swimmer when she won the 100 back.

Brooke Madden continued her dominance in the 1-meter as she took home the win with 304.8 points. The second-place diver was 20 points behind her.

The women struggled to remain competitive in any of the events as Tennessee (7-3) had two swimmers finish in the top three in 10 out of the 13 events.
