A homeless man was arrested Wednesday morning after he sexually battered a mentally disabled woman in a McDonald’s parking lot, Gainesville Police said.

On Sept. 19, Danny Dee Underwood, 34, approached the victim’s car, which was parked at McDonald’s, located at 3826 SW 40th Blvd., at about midnight. Underwood walked up to the car and kissed the victim on the cheek, according to the report.

Underwood got in the driver’s seat of the car and began touching the victim’s breasts, kissing her and digitally penetrating her. Underwood held the victim down by sitting on her legs, according to the report.

Underwood attempted to force the victim to perform oral sex on him, but the victim told him to stop multiple times, according to the report. Police said Underwood grabbed the victim’s hands and pinned her inside the car while he kissed her.

He eventually got back in the driver’s seat of the car and fell asleep. When the victim’s father returned to the car and confronted him, Underwood apologized and left, according to the report.

Police said Underwood told them the victim had only kissed him on the cheek outside the car, and later Underwood changed his story to say he had been in the car but the sexual acts were consensual.

Underwood was arrested on a charge of sexual battery. He was taken to the Alachua County Jail where he remains, as of press time, in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
