To celebrate UF becoming a top-10 public university, UF President Kent Fuchs is hosting a trivia contest on Twitter.
From Saturday until today, Fuchs will tweet quotes from different UF presidents about university rankings. Every student will get one chance to answer the trivia questions correctly, said UF spokesperson Steve Orlando.
The winner will receive two tickets to the Nov. 18 football game against the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the President’s Box.
To win, students need to give the name of each UF president who said the quotes Fuchs tweets and the year of their inaugural address. The first student to come to Fuchs’ office with his or her Gator 1 Card and the correct answers will win, Orlando said.
“Getting into the top 10 has been a goal of UF for a long time, even before there were U.S. News rankings,” Orlando said.
There is no monetary value for the tickets because they can’t be bought by the public, Orlando said.
Amelia Angeliadis, a UF health science senior, learned about the contest when her dad tagged her on Fuchs’ Facebook post. The 21-year-old and her dad have been going to Gator games since she was 8 years old.
“It makes me excited that he was excited to go to games because I like spending time with him, and it’s just like nice of President Fuchs to offer those privileges to students,” she said.
