Nine days after working out for NFL scouts at Florida’s Pro Day, former Florida linebacker Daniel McMillian was booked in Alachua County Jail on Thursday night.
He was arrested on charges of attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment, which are both felonies, according to a Gainesville Police Department report.
The report, which refers to McMillian as “McMillan,” alleges that an unnamed woman went to his apartment at around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday for “legitimate professional reasons,” though it doesn’t say what those reasons were. It identifies the woman as an employee of a company of which McMillian was a customer.
When she entered McMillian’s room, he locked the door and dropped his pants and underwear, according to the report.
The woman told McMillian she was uncomfortable and to let her out, according to the report. He blocked her from leaving before moving towards her and grabbing her butt. According to the report, he told her, “It’s OK baby,” several times.
When she attempted to get away, McMillian grabbed her skirt, according to the report. She then kicked his genitals and ran out of the apartment for help.
The officer who filed the report described the woman as “physically shaking and hysterically crying,” in the report.
As of publishing, McMillian is being held at Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
