Hello Gator Nation,
Welcome back to campus! The Spring semester is upon us, and I hope everyone had a safe holiday break. I am looking forward to serving as your Student Body president for what should be a productive Spring semester.
My administration is hard at work planning projects for the Spring and have prepared several noteworthy events.
The Young Leaders Conference will host their 10th annual conference Feb. 3 to 5. YLC is a three-day high school leadership conference organized and run entirely by UF students. Through interactive workshops and seminars, participants will improve their leadership theory and experiences.
UF’s first annual Big Event will be held April 1. The Big Event is a nationwide service day planned and run by UF students. The day is kicked off with an opening ceremony and followed by UF students performing three- to four- hour service projects across Gainesville — all “For The Gator Good!"
Newell Hall will be opening in April. It will serve as a 24-hour study facility that will provide students with the space and technologic infrastructure they need to ensure success in the classroom.
I encourage everyone to come to the third floor of the Reitz Union and learn more about Student Government and the resources we provide.
Make sure to follow my administration on Facebook (UF Student Government), Twitter (@UF_SG), Snapchat (@UFstudentgov) and Instagram (@ufsg) to see what we’re up to throughout the semester.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any comments, questions or concerns. Go Gators!
