Gainesville residents have a new place to go jump around.
The city’s first trampoline park, Get Air Gainesville at 6250 NW 23rd St., opened Dec. 31 and features wall-to-wall trampolines, a foam pit and a ninja course, similar to the “American Ninja Warrior” TV show.
Construction started in October and was about 10 days behind schedule, wrote Matt Reeves, the general manager, in a Facebook message.
“(It’s a) great place in town for the kids to work off that energy and adults to get in shape,” he said.
The park will also feature four party rooms, with themes of Ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt and the Mayan Empire, Reeves said.
Guests can reserve the rooms, which will become available Jan. 13. Those who make a reservation can bring their own food and drinks, or pay extra for Pizza Hut and Coca Cola products.
Each reservation comes with four tables, plates, silverware, cups, bottled water and a party host to help with organization, Reeves said.
“It will be unlike anything Gainesville has to offer, and it’s family fun for all ages,” Reeves said.
Prices range from $10 to $26, depending on a jumper’s height, the duration of the visit and the day. There are also discounts, such as a 10-percent military discount and a 20-percent student discount on Tuesdays.
Jess Seitz, a Gainesville resident, said she is excited to finally have a trampoline park in Gainesville.
The city doesn’t have a lack of outdoor activities, she said, but it was in need of an air-conditioned attraction.
Seitz, a trampoline park enthusiast, said she looks up new places to jump anytime she is out of town, and that she has been looking forward to a park opening in Gainesville for a while.
“I’ve been to many all over the Southeast of the United States,” she said.
Even though it took a while for Get Air Gainesville to open, Seitz said she’s glad it’s finally here.
“I’m just excited for it, and I definitely will be there within the first week of it being open,” she said.
