There have been some incredible releases so far in 2016 and over the past few weeks, several established artists released projects that are definitely worth checking out. Here are some of the best:

PartyNextDoor – PartyNextDoor 3 – Aug. 12

The hype was real for PartyNextDoor’s third album, and sadly, it did not live up to it. I consider myself a PartyNextDoor super-fan and couldn’t wait for his latest project, but I just couldn’t get into it. Many people finally started realizing Party is the mastermind behind Drake’s “October’s Very Own” record label when a reference track of Rihanna’s “Work” surfaced, showing the No. 1 hit was originally a PND song. Maybe I have to let it grow on me, but in my opinion, if you don’t listen to it, you aren’t missing anything.

Rae Sremmurd – “SremmLife 2” – Aug. 12

Rae Sremmurd debuted in a major way with “SremmLife” back in 2015, and they showed that they’re here to stay with “SremmLife 2”. The duo hasn’t made a bad song yet despite their sophomore album exploring new sounds and ideas. Throw the album on, and get ready to turn up.

Tory Lanez – “I Told You” – Aug. 19

Even though Tory Lanez is a relatively new artist, he’s already made a huge impact on the game. With hits like “Say It” and “Luv,” Tory Lanez has displayed his versatile style that many compare to Drake. While we can’t escape the Drake comparisons, we can appreciate good music, and that’s exactly what Tory gave us. Even though it’s been out for a few weeks, I can’t decide whether “I Told You” or Drake’s “Views” is better. Tory Lanez has a great singing voice and can rap just as good as anyone in the game, and because of that, no features are needed.

Young Thug – “Jeffery” – Aug. 25

Many people love Young Thug and many people dislike him, but most importantly, everyone has an opinion of him. Personally, I think Young Thug is an amazing artist who helps push the rap game forward and he continually improves his rapping and sound. “Jeffery” is a unique album from the cover art, where Thug poses in a dress, to the tracklisting, where the song titles are named after people who have influenced him in his career. I absolutely love “Jeffery” and I think everyone should give it a listen.

Isaiah Rashad – “The Sun’s Tirade” – Sept. 2

Top Dawg Entertainment is a premiere record label that features artists such as Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q, Jay Rock, SZA, Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad, among others. The lineup of artists alone should give you an idea of what kind of rapper Isaiah Rashad is and his ability. If you’re looking for a new artist to get into, then check out this debut album from the TDE artist.

Travis Scott – “Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight” – Sept. 2

By now you’ve probably noticed that I’m a huge fan of Travis Scott. I thought he had the best album of 2015 with “Rodeo,” and nearly a year to the day, La Flame released his fourth project in four years. “BITTSM” is simply perfect. There’s not a single bad song, and the features are unique and unexpected. Travis links up with Andre 3000, Kid Cudi, Nav, 21 Savage, Kendrick Lamar and many others to create one of the most lit albums in a while. Travis is one of the most talented producers and rappers and has been over the past few years, and he continues to improve. “BITTSM” is full of bangers and is an obvious must-listen.
