The Gators played their last round of team golf of the season on Sunday.

UF missed the top-15 cut and failed to advance to the final round of the NCAA National Tournament, which Florida has not won since 1986.

“Everyone is obviously disappointed, as this is not how we envisioned the season ending,” UF coach Emily Glaser said in a release.

“Our games were just not sharp enough, and we didn’t adjust very well to this golf course and the conditions here in Oregon.”

Florida finished in 17th place at 22 over par.

However, Florida was represented in the fourth round by junior Kelly Grassel, who qualified as an individual.

Grassel has averaged 73.19 strokes per round this season, which is good for fourth best in Florida’s arsenal.

At the tournament, Grassel led the Gators in their last two rounds by shooting even-par 72s both days.

In Round 3, the Michigan State transfer matched three bogeys with three birdies across the 18.

The consecutive even rounds led to a 2 over par tournament finish and a tie for 27th place.

“I am happy for Kelly and the opportunity she has (Monday)," Glaser said.      She deserves it, and she came to play this week.”

On Monday, Grassel finished the tournament at 1 over par in a tie for 20th place after shooting 1 under in her final round.

The rest of the lineup was unable to match her effort, however.

Sophomore Taylor Tomlinson finished the tournament at 6 over par, ending in a tie for 70th place.

She started on the back nine with two bogeys. Two more on the front nine led to a 4-over-par round, her worst performance at the tournament.

Junior Maria Torres claimed a tie for 76th place with a tournament finish of 7 over par.

Torres matched her second-day score of 3 over par with two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.

Karolina Vlckova also matched her Round 2 score with a 1-over-par 73 for a 9-over-par tournament finish.

The junior was marred by a 7-over-par first round that hindered her climb up the leaderboard.

However, Vlckova managed to bring herself back into the top 100 with a share of 90th place.

That was not the case for Samantha Wagner, however.

Wagner finished the final round of her freshman season at 5 over par.

Three bogeys and a double bogey caused Wagner to fall five spots to a tie for 106th place.

“There are so many positives from this year, all of which are a little bittersweet at the moment," Glaser said.

"In time, we will be able to reflect on how far we’ve come and how much we accomplished this year.”
