Logan Shore celebrates after throwing a complete-game shutout -- his school-record 13th consecutive win -- during Florida's 6-0 win against Georgia on April 22, 2016, at McKethan Stadium.

Florida pitcher Logan Shore was named the 2016 Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year on Monday, becoming just the second player in school history to receive the award.

Shore highlighted a group of five Gators listed on first and second all-SEC teams, which tied Mississippi State for most in the conference.

Junior relief pitcher Shaun Anderson joined Shore as UF’s two first-team selections, while catcher Mike Rivera, first baseman Peter Alonso and shortstop Dalton Guthrie were selected to the second team.

Additionally, second baseman Deacon Liput and third baseman Jonathan India were named all-SEC freshmen, and centerfielder Buddy Reed joined Rivera and Guthrie on the SEC all-defensive team.

Shore has been Florida’s workhorse all season.

The junior finished the regular season an unbeaten 10-0 with a 2.33 ERA and has won a school-record 15-straight decisions. The Gators have won all but one of his 14 starts this year.

As UF’s closer, Anderson has nailed down 10 saves, tied for fourth-best in the SEC. The Coral Springs native has also posted a miniscule 0.96 ERA in 28 appearances while striking out 51 batters in 37.2 innings.

Rivera and Alonso have been Florida’s consistent power threats.

The two share the team lead with nine homers each and rank among the conference’s top 15 leaders in RBIs with 45 and 47, respectively. Alonso’s .352 average is good for eighth-best in the SEC.

Guthrie, who’s hitting .329 as Florida’s leadoff hitter, is one of three Gators currently above .300. The sophomore has also transitioned well from second base to shortstop, committing just five errors.

In their first year, Liput and India have hit well.

India leads with a .301 mark while Liput follows with a .284 clip. The pair has also combined to steal 23 bases.
