A “Community” fan favorite is coming to UF.

Danny Pudi, a comedian and actor from the TV show “Community,” will perform a comedy show in the Reitz Union on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Pudi will be paid $10,000 for performing, said Kaitlin Milligan, a speakers and comedians co-director with Reitz Union Board Entertainment.

Students won’t be able to get tickets in advance, she said. Doors open at 7 p.m. in the Rion Ballroom on the third floor of the Reitz. Only UF students with valid Gator 1 Cards will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

RUB has been planning for about two weeks to bring Pudi to UF. Milligan said she thinks Pudi will be different from other comedians who have come to UF.

“It’s more of a comedy show where he talks about identity and his life,” she said. “It’s a little different from a typical one-hour stand-up set. It’s more of a show.”

Ammar Khan, a UF microbiology and cell science freshman, said he’s excited to see his favorite actor from “Community.”

“I always thought he was one of the funniest characters,” the 19-year-old said.

He couldn’t see previous comedians at UF because of his chemistry exams, he said.

“I already missed out on Paul Rudd and Trevor Noah,” he said. “Since I realized I did not have an exam on this night, I was like, ‘I am for sure going to this one.’”
