Seven days of discounted chicken wings: There’s an app for that.
Wing Week Madness starts today and runs through Sunday, allowing members of the Gift Certificates and More app to buy $5 wings at 10 Gainesville restaurants.
Customers will save about $3 to $5 by opening the app when ordering, said Edward Lavagnino, the sales director of the app. The coupon can be used once a day at every location.
“Save money and enjoy it,” he said. “Watch basketball.”
Next month’s promotion is for $5 pulled pork sandwiches, Lavagnino said.
Sal Mollica, an owner of Chomps Sports Grill, said he scheduled more staff and ordered extra wings to prepare.
“We’re excited to be a part of it,” he said. “We hope everyone that comes out has a wonderful time.”
Brooke McMillion, a 22-year-old UF plant science senior, said she plans to download the app.
“I’ll have to grab some wings in between classes,” she said. “It’s a great deal, and it’s cool that some of the locations are super close to campus.”
Candace Aho, a manager at the TGI Friday’s on Archer Road, said hundreds of customers took advantage of a burger promotion last year.
“We expect a lot of people,” she said. “We’re ready for everyone.”
