Marvel fans rejoice: There’s a new heroine in town and she’s hardcore. Jessica Jones is the most recent character to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a 13-episode series on Netflix, released Nov. 20. The series follows the same nitty-gritty, dark essence the first Netflix-Marvel collaboration “Daredevil” was filmed in, and just like the former, “Jessica Jones” does not disappoint.
Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) got her abilities through a tragic accident, but she doesn’t go around flaunting them. Instead, she’s a private investigator who helps civilians and others with her special powers. The series rids itself of the traditional superhero with a cape and mask and instead gave Jones a leather jacket, ripped-up jeans and a bad attitude.
Spend the end of syllabus week staying in with Ms. Jones and a bottle of your favorite alcoholic beverage to keep you warm during these cold nights.
