Dear Mediocre Advice,

On New Year’s Eve, I met this really cute girl after a fun night of drinking and dancing.

We talked briefly after the club let out. I found out she lives on the West Coast and got her number without even asking.

Excited, I texted back the next day. No response. Then, a few hours later. Zilch.

I gave it another three days before one last text and still nothing. What gives? Should I just let it go?

- Dazed and Confused

Dear Dazed and Confused,

Have you ever heard the phrase “She’s just not that into you?”  Unfortunately, it is a trend among women to have a great time, send all of the wrong signals and then just shut you down.

BOOM!

Here’s what I can say to you — firstly, stop texting! I know, I know, it’s a millennial thing, but sometimes you just need to take the plunge and make a phone call. We XX chromosomes are complicated — we like both. If the texting situation is stale on the home front, pick up the phone and cross your fingers. If she doesn’t answer, leave a message.

I would give her approximately 24 hours to answer that message via call or text, and if she doesn’t, leave her in the past where girls like her belong. Also, she lives on the West-freaking-Coast. I don’t think the spark is gonna burn that far!

Grab a few comrades and hit the bars on Saturdays when the drinks are free and ladies are plentiful. You’ll probably meet some Tiffany or Heather that’ll make you forget all about that West Coast has-been.

Sincerely,

Mediocre
