Admit it: Before "American Horror Story" and "The Walking Dead," you were terrified of Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Almost every evening on Cartoon Network, the cartoon series would take viewers out of their beds and into his town called Nowhere, where he lived in the middle (middle of Nowhere; get it?) with his owners Muriel and Eustace Bagge. There, Courage would defend his owners from monsters, aliens, zombies and other creepy characters — and he would do so cowardly.
In 1999, the series had everyone thinking, "How is this a kids show?" Now, rewatching the series on Netflix has everyone thinking, "How would I watch this as a kid?"
The show has nothing to envy from the current horror series on TV. It was jam-packed with demonic faces, exploding organs, fetus blobs from Hell, creepy claymation and even a tree with an awkward human face on it.

The series lasted four seasons and has a total of 52 episodes. Courage and the show were first introduced as a seven-minute animated short called "The Chicken from Outer Space." The short was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1995. Now, it remains as a cult classic, having an 8.3/10 rating on IMDb.
