David Liebe Hart, best known for his work on Adult Swim’s “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!,” will be performing his comedy show at 9 p.m. Tuesday at High Dive.

A musician, puppeteer, painter, street performer and actor will be performing in Gainesville on Tuesday — and it’s all the same person.

Known for his work on Adult Swim and “The Junior Christian Teaching Bible Lesson Program,” David Liebe Hart, who has also appeared on “The Daily Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is a character like no other.

Liebe Hart is no stranger to the spotlight, but recently he decided to change things up by combining music, puppets and videos into his current tour — something he has never done before.

“This show is different; I’m doing electronic music, whereas before I was a punk-rock band,” said Liebe Hart.

The comedian will perform at 9 p.m. on Tuesday at High Dive, located at 210 SW Second Ave.

Tickets can be purchased for $12 at the door or for $10 in advance on ticketfly.com.

Liebe Hart is certain his old and new fans will love some of his new material, which he wrote in collaboration with music producer Jonah Mociun.

While many of Liebe Hart’s fans are familiar with his early music — which he wrote and performed for the “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” —Liebe Hart regrettably said he can no longer perform any of those songs because Warner Bros. owns them.

However, he recently released a new album, “Astronaut,” in which he sings about aliens, ghosts, women, living a vegan lifestyle and UFOs.

He said he “wrote a song about living in a haunted house in Chicago with two ghosts known as the Pickle Man and Mr. Moose.”

Another one of his songs, “New Technology,” is based on how his cousin Phyllis McKennan, who worked with the FBI, confided in him with secret information.

“She shared with me that the GPS was something that they (FBI) got from working with the extraterrestrials,” Liebe Hart said, “and how the extraterrestrials used the GPS to travel through space from one part of the galaxy to another.”

Along with some of his new songs, the performer said his music producer helped him develop a better and more professional tour this time around.

Liebe Hart mentioned some of his personal artwork and videos will be projected onto the stage to complement his music and stand-up comedy.

“This tour also has more puppets, and I do stand-up comedy in this tour, which I didn’t do in my other tour,” Liebe Hart said, referring to his previous tour with performer and musician Adam Papagan.

Pat Lavery, owner of local booking company Glory Days Presents, said he wanted Liebe Hart to perform at High Dive because it’s known for bringing up-and-coming comedians to Gainesville before the mainstream is aware of them.

Lavery said the audience should expect Liebe Hart’s show to have music, stand-up, stories, puppets, videos and more.

He also felt Liebe Hart’s show is “quirky, to say the least.”
