Three Florida Gators have been named to college football preseason award watch lists.

Junior defensive back Vernon Hargreaves and senior linebacker Antonio Morrison have been named to the Chuck Bednarik Award preseason watch list for the best defensive player in the country.

Tight end Jake McGee has been named to the Jack Mackey Award preseason watch list for the best tight end in the nation.

Hargreaves was a semifinalist for the Bednarik last season.

Morrison was a Second Team All-Southeastern Conference selection after he led the Gators with 101 tackles becoming the first Florida player to do so since Ahmad Black had 108 in 2010.

Morrison is expected to miss the beginning of the season as he continues to recover from a knee injury that he suffered during the Birmingham Bowl in January.

McGee, who was granted a sixth year of eligibility after suffering a season-ending broken tibia and fibula in his left leg in the opening game of the season, transferred from Virginia before last season.

In his final season in a Cavalier uniform, McGee had 43 catches for 395 yards and two touchdowns.

The Richmond, Virginia native, has 71 catches for 769 yards and seven touchdowns in his collegiate career
