As I was thinking about this week’s project, I noticed an empty spot on my wall that needed filling, so I decided to look for DIY wall décor and found the coolest thing. This project is a little more tedious than the previous ones, but it’s worth it.
What you will need:
- Stretch canvas (Mine are 9 in. x 12 in. and I bought them at Michael’s)
- X-Acto tool (Bought at Joann Fabric)
- Geometric shape stencils (Found online, links included below)
Step 1: Tape your stencil to the front of the canvas
Step 2: Make sure you have enough light, and trace the pattern of the stencil onto the back of the canvas with a pencil.
Step 3: On a cutting board, use your X-Acto tool and cut out the pattern.
Step 3 is probably going to take you a while, but you just have to be patient. I started rushing and some of my edges didn’t come out as smooth as I would have liked, so I went in there and tried cleaning them up a bit afterwards.
If you would like your canvases to have color, you can always spray paint them. I didn’t because I just wanted them to be plain white.
Even though this project requires a bit more patience, the result is awesome.
I hope you have fun with this one! Until next time!
