Despite an overall down season from the UF men’s basketball team, the Gators still landed two players on the Southeastern Conference’s year-end teams on Tuesday.
League coaches named forward Dorian Finney-Smith to the All-SEC second team, while freshman forward Devin Robinson earned a spot on the conference’s All-Freshman team.
This is the second season-ending SEC honor for Finney-Smith, who was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2014 during Florida’s run to its first Final Four since the 2007 season.
The fourth-year junior from Portsmouth, Virginia, played in 26 games this season, starting 22, and led the Gators with 13.1 points and six rebounds per game while finishing second in total steals (32) and third in total blocks (23).
Robinson saw action in all 31 games this season and garnered 17 starts — 10 of which came during the 18-game SEC schedule.
He finished conference play averaging 6.8 points and 2.8 rebounds a game, both of which ranked 10th among SEC freshmen.
No. 8 seed Florida opens play in the SEC Tournament on Thursday against ninth-seeded Alabama in Nashville. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
