Hello Gator Nation!
My name is Joselin Padron-Rasines, and I am honored to be your Student Body president-elect alongside Student Body Vice President-elect Kevin Doan and Student Body Treasurer-elect Nicholas Carre. It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I announce Student Government applications are currently open!
The three of us ran on the platform of ensuring that SG is open to all students. Now is the time to put that dream into action. We need you! We need your passion, dedication and desire to make a difference on this campus.
There are more than 40 positions available in the executive branch for the 2015-16 term. From coordinating the biggest student-run housing fair, to bringing distinguished speakers to campus, to serving the broader Gainesville community; there is a place for you. SG provides an outlet where you can grow as a leader, form lasting relationships and be the change you have wanted to see on this campus.
If you want to create events and programming for the Student Body, SG Cabinet is your avenue. Serving in the Cabinet is your opportunity to create impactful events that inform and inspire every Gator.
If you want to work with the administration and SG to advocate for change in university policies and procedures, apply to be an executive secretary. Executive secretaries serve on my Council of Advisors and keep me up to date on policy issues around campus.
If you want to provide services and resources to students, consider joining an SG agency. Agencies have a wide range of initiatives that aim to connect students to each other. Examples include Accent, Gators Going Green and Student Government Productions.
