First Magnitude Brewing Company is teaming up with the Alachua County Humane Society to help homeless pets of Gainesville.
The ACHS is hosting “Find Your Lucky Charm” from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at First Magnitude Brewing, located at 1220 SE Veitch St.
Megan Stennes, a public relations intern at the ACHS, said tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance through their Facebook page or at the door on the night of the event. Tickets guarantee food, beer in a First Magnitude souvenir pint glass and live music by the Last Men on Earth, Endless Pools and Blue Herons. All proceeds will benefit the animals cared for at the humane society.
The ACHS is a nonprofit organization that has been protecting, rehabilitating and adopting out animals in the community for more than 35 years.
Stennes said it costs about $350 to vaccinate, neuter/spay and care for each animal that comes into the humane society.
The humane society is striving to end animal euthanasia in Alachua County, Stennes said.
It take in homeless pets from animal services, and the proceeds from the event will help it continue to protect and care for those animals.
“What we are doing here is imperative to saving animals lives,” said Erica Corbett, an adoption counselor at the ACHS. “We are dedicated to seeing every animal that doesn’t have a home find a forever home.”
