Burlesque and blues is on the menu at the Market Street Pub and Cabaret on Saturday night.

The Market Street Pub, 112 SW First Ave., will be holding its second Market Street Revue, “Classy and Sassy Burlesque in the Round,” at 8 p.m. for ages 18 and up. General admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Dressing fancy is encouraged but not required.

“Look forward to having a unique and special experience that hopefully leaves you feeling entertained, rejuvenated and a little turned on,” Sally B. Dash, producer of the revue, wrote in an email.

Dash said The Market Street Revue is a compelling and sexy burlesque show with five different performing acts from Gainesville and all over the state. Each performer will be entertaining the crowd from the round, an area sunken in the middle, with the audience surrounding them entirely.

Some acts will include performers parading into the crowd and interacting with the audience, possibly even removing their glove fingertip by fingertip, Dash said. Catcalling and screaming is encouraged.

“We love to hear your screams when we’re on stage,” Dash said.

Formaldehyde Flower, a burlesque performer set to perform in the revue, wrote in an email that she is debuting a new act she guarantees no one has seen before, but she said she wants to keep it a surprise.

While audience members feast their eyes on the dancers, they can also feast on a dinner catered from Fly’n Hawaiian Hotdogs LLC that will be served from 7 to 11 p.m. After the two-part show concludes, the audience will have a chance to mingle with some of their favorite acts from the night during a blues dance with DJ Dee at 10 p.m.

“You can’t have a good idea about what it is we do, about the energy, and about the art without attending,” said Formaldehyde Flower. “It’s definitely an experience worth having.”
