Dear Readers,
In exactly 25 days you will all have the opportunity to elect 50 student senators representing their colleges as well as the Student Body president, vice president and treasurer.
As your supervisor of elections, I encourage you to learn more about Student Government, the political parties, the candidates and the elections process.
Starting this Sunday, you will be able to interview to be a part of Student Senate as a candidate with a political party at the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom. This will continue on Monday and Tuesday. Qualifying and slating on Sunday is from noon to 4 p.m., on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Elections this semester are on Tuesday, Feb. 24 and Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and we hope to offer 11 polling locations around campus. Please remember that in this upcoming election, you will be able to vote for candidates who represent you based on your major or college. This is determined by how many total credits you have. Any IB/AP/dual enrollment credits you have accrued counts toward this amount.
