Gainesville Police arrested a man after officers said he robbed a man at gunpoint following an attempted marijuana drug deal at Archer Court Apartments Thursday evening.
The victim, Alonzo Snowden, asked 19-year-old Uriah Anthony Scott if he could buy some marijuana at about 7:30 p.m., according to a police report. Snowden told Scott he did not have money but would pay him at a later time.
Snowden walked to Scott’s apartment — located at 3001 SW Archer Road — and knocked on the door. Snowden told police he opened the unlocked door because he could hear someone inside the apartment and thought it was Scott.
Once inside, Snowden said Scott then came from around the corner holding a black revolver and robbed him, according to the report. Scott took Snowden’s wallet, a silver necklace, a knife, a cell phone and a pair of steel-toe work shoes.
When police arrived at Scott’s residence, they found all of Snowden’s belongings, along with the gun Scott used to rob him. Officers also found two scales and a few plastic bags with cannabis residue.
Scott was arrested on charges of armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has not been set.
