A naked man had to be dragged out of an apartment early Tuesday after police said he pushed and grabbed his wife.

Shortly before 5 a.m., 36-year-old Daryl Brown and his wife got into an argument while in bed at their home, located at 4016 SW 22nd Road. According to an arrest report, Brown grabbed both of the woman’s arms, which caused bruising, and then he pushed her.

When police arrived, they said the woman seemed scared of Brown and was hesitant to tell officers what happened.

She later told police Brown was hiding in a closet. He emerged from the closet fully naked and was handcuffed.

It took four officers to get Brown out of the apartment and into a patrol car.

He was arrested on charges of battery, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer with violence. His bond is set at $30,000.

A Gainesville woman was arrested Monday evening after police said she falsely told them she had been shot at.

Earlier in the day, officers responded to a call at 1120 NW 45th Ave. after Doris Winn Braswell, 53, called to complain about her neighbor drinking. Police said Braswell was angry that they did not arrest the person.

Around 6 p.m. — minutes after police left — Braswell called again and said a neighbor shot at her while she was sleeping. When officers arrived, no evidence of a gun being fired was found.

Braswell was arrested for making a false 911 call. Her bond is $10,000.
