Hello, Gators!
My name is Rachael Laky, and I am beyond excited to be a candidate for Hume Hall with Swamp Party.
I would love to take the opportunity to share some of my background and reasons for pursuing this process.
It is my genuine hope that, by reading this letter, you better understand what it is that makes me so passionate about Student Government and representing the students of UF.
My passion for working with and for others is what sparked my interest in slating for Senate.
From the first day I moved into Hume, I knew that the students I was surrounded by were a special and intelligent group of young adults.
Their thoughts and concerns need to be addressed in SG in order to make our campus the best it can be.
I support every aspect of Swamp’s platform, as well as the ideas for Hume.
My top priorities are building a crosswalk for Hume West and implementing free printing in the Hume area.
I also want to work on creating more of a community atmosphere in the Hume area, and I plan to collaborate with the Student Honors Organization to accomplish this task.
I am excited to get to know as many students as possible in the coming weeks and to share my excitement for having the opportunity to make a difference at UF.
Thank you, and go Gators!
Rachael Laky, UF accounting major
