An alcohol inventory at Boca Fiesta led to the arrest of a Gainesville man who police said stole 10 bottles of liquor from the restaurant and bar Sunday.

Boca Fiesta, located at 232 SE First St., realized it was missing $390 worth of tequila and Grand Marnier. The restaurant reviewed its video footage Sunday, which revealed that Carl Rasson Harrison, 44, jumped the back fence and broke into the business through a poorly secured back door, according to Gainesville Police officer Ben Tobias.

The video surveillance was then turned over to GPD.

At about 8 p.m. Sunday, GPD received video footage and images of the suspect. Around 2:30 a.m. Monday, Officers Travis Williams and Jeff Bailey located the suspect on North Main Street, but lost sight of him.

Shortly after, the officers notified Officer Hardman, who found Harrison behind the nightclub University Club. Harrison was wearing the same clothing that was seen in the video.

At the time of the burglary, Harrison was the only one in the building.

After being read his Miranda rights, Harrison said he did not want to speak about the incident and wanted to be taken to the jail.

Harrison was charged with grand theft.
