Mary Lambert serenaded a crowd of about 150 Tuesday night at The Wooly with a set list ranging from love songs to tunes focused on domestic violence.
Pride Awareness Month hosted Lambert and three local artists — Boyfriend Material, Jeff Jones and Zoe Bernardeau — as part of its monthlong series of events focused on LGBTQ culture.
Jones wore sunglasses during his entire performance and sang a cover of the Lady Gaga song “Dope." Bernardeau sang an original song about her struggle to come out to her grandmother.
Lambert, featured in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ song “Same Love,” was paid $4,500 for her performance.
Pride Awareness Month internal director Leah Warwick said Lambert was someone she and many of the organization's members loved.
Lambert closed the show with a mix of original songs, spoken word and a cover of “Teenage Dirtbag.”
Katie Gibson, a first-year UF physical therapy grad student, said she heard about the performance from Facebook.
“I think PAM is a really well-put-together organization,” Gibson said. “They always advertise far in advance.”
