Q-and-A with Aaron Carter, coming to Gainesville soon for High Dive show

Aaron’s Party is coming to Gainesville.

Pop star Aaron Carter will perform at High Dive on Sunday. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show — which includes The Crazy Carls, The Real Hooks and Brie Goldsobel — starts an hour later. General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door, available at tktwb.tw/GIAlq5, Hear Again Music or High Dive.

The Alligator spoke with Carter, a Tampa native, last week.

Q: What can you tell me about your tour?

A: It’s live music. I do all of my hits from the past — you know, “Aaron’s Party,” “I Love Candy,” “How I Beat Shaq” — I take all of them, and we do a new show.

Q: I think a lot of the people who are going to be coming to your Gainesville concert are probably UF students who remember you from a few years ago. What should they know about you now?

A: Well, I’ve grown up, you know, and I’m 25 years old. I’ve been working on my craft, and ... becoming a better singer. So I think that the show really focuses on my talents as a performer.

Q: What can people expect when they come?

A: They can expect to just come and have a good time. It’s live music, and I ... do a lot of the stuff that I’ve done before, so it’s nostalgic for people too. It’s nostalgic for me, and it’s amazing. It’s just a really good time. I encourage people to just come out and check it out.
