It seems that Cher Horowitz’s style from Clueless has made an impact on us fashionistas. The style of the '90s always tends to return to the mainstream and I’m not talking about those hideous argyle-print pants. As if!
Before you go rummaging through your closet to toss out something that is so 1998, you might want to consider keeping a few items that are sure to come back into style.
1) Plaid Button- Ups
Tying an oversized plaid button-up on the waist symbolized your typical 90s “bad boy”. However, in 2013 it’s the ladies who are rocking this rebellious style. Seventeen does a feature on how to wear plaid for all different types of outfits.
2) Crop tops
Showing your midriff has become the new cleavage. It’s a classier way to expose your best assets and the style may even motivate you to work on that six-pack you’ve always wanted.
3) Knee-high socks
Add some coverage to your short dresses and minis with a pair of knee-high socks. If you’re not a fan of the combination of socks and dresses, pair the socks with tall boots. That look will add a trendy touch to your winter outfits.
4) Halter Tops
Before you scoff at this and reminisce about your middle school dances, check out Nasty Gal's modern take on the halter top. I promise you it will change your mind.
Remember to update your closet sporadically, and use the word sporadically often in your vocabulary. Cher would be proud.
