The Regional Transit System is preparing to make a few route adjustments over the weekend because of United Way events, the first UF home football game and Labor Day.
Beginning Friday, Routes 24 and 25 will be detoured in the downtown area to accommodate United Way’s Get Your Gator On tailgate event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
To avoid the area, Route 24 will use Southeast Third Street to Depot Avenue to Waldo Road.
Leaving from UF campus, Route 25 will turn left from Southwest Second Avenue onto Main Street and then right onto University Avenue, continuing to Waldo Road.
Leaving from the airport, Route 25 will take University Avenue to Southeast Third Street to Rosa Parks Downtown Station, which will then take Southeast Fourth Avenue to Main Street to Southwest Second Avenue.
On Saturday, Gator Aider service begins running three hours before kickoff.
Gator Aider can be accessed from one of the five Park-n-Ride stations, located at Tioga Town Center, Haile Village Center, Hilton UF Conference Center, The Oaks Mall and the Downtown Parking Garage.
There will be no bus service Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Normal Fall schedule service will resume Tuesday.
