Orange and blue is part of a recipe for tailgate festivities on a Food Network episode premiering today.
An episode of “Emeril’s Florida” airs at 9:30 a.m. featuring tailgating at the Florida vs. Florida State game, which took place on Nov. 24 in Tallahassee.
The episode includes interviews with former Gator quarterback Chris Leak and Candi Fisher, the wife of FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher.
In the episode, Emeril Lagasse cooks tailgating favorites with his son at the game and hosts a cook-off competition between two Gators and two Seminoles.
Spoiler alert: The Gators win.
During the show, Emeril cooks recipes such as bacon potato salad, barbecue ribs and pork roast with homemade barbecue sauce.
“We wanted to highlight the great Florida experiences, including college football,” said Carol Dover, president and CEO of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.
Nicole Vassallo, a UF public relations senior, said Monday that she planned to tune in.
“I grew up watching Emeril, and I’m curious to see what he has to say about the tailgating experience between such big rival schools,” Vassallo said.
“I’m sure he’ll find a way to come up with some interesting recipes students can try out that’ll spice up tailgating even more.”
