About 26,000 people attended Gator Growl on Friday night, said Gator Growl Producer Aaron Heger.

The Fray and Gainesville natives Sister Hazel will headline this year’s Gator Growl, organizers announced Sunday evening on Facebook and Twitter.

Students can purchase tickets for $17 while all other tickets cost $27. They can be bought at www.gatorgrowl.org and www.gatorzone.com, as well as at tables on Turlington Plaza, in Broward and the Reitz Union during weekdays, marketing director McKenzie Doll said.

This year’s event, the 90th Gator Growl, is scheduled for Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.

Also performing will be the New Directions Veterans Choir, an a cappella group of veterans who sing “renditions of doo-wop, soul, traditional gospel and popular music,” according to the choir’s website.

Absent from the lineup are comedians — a change from recent years that included names like Joel McHale, Aziz Ansari and Dana Carvey.

“I assume [that] maybe last year, Tracy Morgan didn’t work out, and we wanted to change it up for the 90th Gator Growl,” Doll said.
