Senior guard Kenny Boynton attempts a shot against Michigan guard Tim Hardaway Jr. during Florida’s 79-59 loss on Sunday in Cowboys Stadium. Boynton missed the cut for the Los Angeles Lakers' summer league roster, which was released Thursday.

Former Gators guard Kenny Boynton accepted an invite to play for the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer league team last week, according to reports.

But when the roster was released today, his name was nowhere to be found.

Boynton missed the cut for the Lakers’ 15-man summer league squad, which will compete in Las Vegas beginning Friday. Former Florida State guard Michael Snaer made the roster.

Boynton went undrafted in last month’s NBA Draft. A Pompano Beach native, he entered Florida as the No. 12 prospect nationally, according to Rivals.com. He left UF as the second-leading scorer in school history with 2,033 career points.

During his senior year, he scored 12 points per game while also averaging three rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest.
