Summer in Gainesville means fewer people, hotter temperatures and reduced bus service for students and residents who hope to catch a ride.
Although normal summer schedules resumed Monday, routes 22, 27, 28, 29, 39, 46, 62 and 76 will be suspended and Later Gator buses will not run until July 5, according to a press release.
On summer weekdays, bus 117 runs every 30 minutes until 4:46 p.m. Bus 125 comes every 15 minutes until 5:30 p.m. Bus 126 cycles through every 45 minutes until 10:55 p.m., and the 127 loops every 20 minutes until 6:45 p.m., according to schedules on the Regional Transit Service website.
There are no summer changes for routes 119, 120, 121 and 122.
RTS spokesman Chip Skinner did not return a request for comment.
There is no campus service May 27, June 22-30, July 4 and August 10-18. More information about RTS buses is available at www.go-rts.com.
